
BRONWYN MATTOCK
PRINCIPAL
Bronwyn commenced ballet studies at the age of 5 studying the British Ballet Organization Syllabus. Her love for ballet only grew from there and she moved onto studying the Royal Academy of Dancing (RAD) syllabus. She continued her studies under the tutelage of June Stevens and Diana De Vos until the age of 15 when she started with the Perth City Ballet and Diana Waldron. At the age of 16 Bronwyn undertook full-time ballet studies with the Perth City Ballet and performed in many productions across the state. Over the years her passion for, and appreciation of the technique and craft of ballet has only strengthened. Now it gives her great pleasure to work with students and assist in developing their technique and love of an incredible art form.
STEPHANIE MEHRTENS A.R.A.D.
CLASSICAL BALLET TEACHER
Stephanie was a student at Dance Venture from the age of 7 and started as a teacher’s assistant when she was 15. In 2004 she graduated as a Specialist Ballet Student at John Curtin College of the Arts and continued to the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) graduating with an Advanced Diploma in Performing Arts ( Dance ) in 2004 . Her greatest passion is our littlest students and after she completed her RAD Advanced 2 exam, in 2012, she commenced study to be a ballet teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance. Stephanie has been working as a qualified teacher since 2014. In 2021 she took her teaching knowledge in a new direction and completed a Certificate IV in Pilates Matwork and Reformer and enjoys using what she has learnt with our senior students.

JACK WHITER
SENIOR TEACHER
Born in Canberra, Australia, Jack Whiter trained under his mother at Sparkles Dance Studio (now Acclaim Dance and Cheer Co.) starting at the age of 9.

In 2015 he moved to Wellington to train at the New Zealand School of Dance, graduating in 2017. During his time at the school, Jack had the opportunity to perform alongside the Royal New Zealand Ballet during their season of Ethan Stiefel and Johan Kobborg’s Giselle.

Jack joined West Australian Ballet in 2018 as a Young Artist and became a Corps de Ballet member in 2019. In 2021 he was promoted to Demi-Soloist. Since joining West Australian Ballet he has had the chance to dance many roles including the Cheshire Cat in ALICE (in wonderland), Dr Seward in Dracula and Carabosse in The Sleeping Beauty. He has also choreographed several works for West Australian Ballet’s Genesis seasons, as well as contributing to the work Heartache for Ballet at the Quarry 2021.

Jack’s other repertoire includes George Balanchine’s Allegro Brillante and Who Cares?, Robert Bondara’s Take Me With You and Persona, Kenneth MacMillan’s Concerto and David Dawson’s Metamorphosis.

MADDIE GILL
SENIOR TEACHER
Maddy began her dance journey at the age of six, undertaking training in the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus. Over the years, she successfully completed all RAD examinations from Grade 1 through to Advanced 2, establishing a strong technical foundation and a deep appreciation for classical ballet.

As a dedicated ballet specialist student at John Curtin College of the Arts, Maddy immersed herself in full‑time dance studies and graduated in 2019 with a Certificate III in Ballet. She continued her professional training at the prestigious West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), completing a Diploma in Dance in 2020.

Maddy’s professional career began in 2021 when she joined West Australian Ballet as a Young Artist, gaining invaluable stage experience and mentorship. In 2022, she progressed to the corps de ballet, performing in major productions and working closely with leading choreographers.
​
In 2023, Maddy expanded her artistic path into teaching, specialising in RAD syllabus classes as well as technique and pointe training. She is passionate about nurturing young dancers, helping them build confidence, refine their technical skills, and develop their individual artistic expression.
Maddy brings a wealth of professional knowledge, discipline, and enthusiasm to every class she teaches, inspiring students to achieve their personal best.

AFRODITI EPIFANIOU
SENIOR BLLET TEACHER (RAD) & CONTEMPORARY TEACHER
Afroditi completed her BA (Hons) in Dance and Choreography. She has been teaching ballet and contemporary dance since 2020 and has completed the RAD syllabus.

ALEXANDRA LILLEY
TEACHER
Alex has been training in ballet since the age of five. She began her training in Melbourne, studying the Borovansky Ballet syllabus, before moving to Perth where she joined Dance Venture at age seven.
Alex has completed both graded and vocational RAD exams up to Advanced 1. She began assisting ballet classes at Dance Venture in 2020 and has been teaching junior ballet classes since 2023.

CATLYN WALKER
JUNIOR TEACHER
Has been a student at Dance Venture since she was 5 years old in 2010. She also studied in Broome for 4 years at Pearl Bay Dance Academy & Sun Studios before returning to Dance Venture in 2016.
In 2020 she started assisting Stephanie to teach the younger students on Saturday mornings. Caitlyn has a Certificate II in Dance and attends classes in Ballet & Contemporary.
CHARLEE OSBORNE
TEACHER


MADISON REITH
JAZZ TEACHER
Madi has been dancing since a very young age and excels in choreographing new works, bringing fresh and innovative ideas to her classes.
Currently, she is completing a Diploma of Professional Dance and has already earned her Diploma of Musical Theatre. Her passion for dance is evident in her dedication and achievements.
Her extensive training and experience, combined with her creative flair, make her an inspiring and effective teacher, motivating her students to achieve their best.

CHARLEE OSBORNE
TEACHER
At the age of two, Charlee started dancing at Betty Bentley Dance Academy. Growing up she has trained in ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap and acrobatics. Over these years, she discovered her love for ballet and decided to continue her training at Dance Venture in 2019.
Thanks to this training, Charlee was accepted into the ballet program at John Curtin College of the Arts in 2021. She continued her training up until year 11, where she was offered a position to train at Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in 2024.
Over the past two years she has completed her Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Professional Dance (Elite Performance) and is currently working on her Bachelor of Arts.
JADE WHEELER
JUNIOR TEACHER
Jade started dancing at Dance Venture at the age of three and a half. She has continued to do ballet, completing all her RAD exams to Advanced 2 level.
Jade has also been a strong contemporary dancer and has been an assistant Junior teacher to our ‘Twinkle Toes’ for the last 3 years.
Jade has performed for Perth City Ballet in their corps de ballet in 'Red Shoes' and 'Picnic at Hanging Rock.' She has excellent experience in performing and has danced in many competitions placing well in ballet, demi-character, and contemporary solos, and has danced in many concerts gaining her great stage and choreography experience.
